Do I really need supplements?
There are so many supplement options out there.
Is there even a good reason to take supplements?
Each person has different goals when it comes to health or fitness. All the variety of supplements can be overwhelming. The good news is that variety leaves us with plenty to think about. What is in the products we consume? Are they full of nutrients and ingredients that will benefit our bodies? Or are they loaded with fillers and chemicals that may actually do our bodies more harm than good? There are some great products out there; all it takes is a little effort on our part to make sure we are getting the level of quality our bodies deserve.
The first thing to figure out when choosing a supplement is what your goals are…
Are you trying to lose weight, gain weight, feel more energetic, stay as healthy as you can…Whatever the need, there is a supplement out there to help you reach that goal.
By definition a supplement is:
“something that completes or enhances something else when added to it.”
So supplements are not all we need. We “supplement” in addition to other things we are doing to reach our goals.
For example, if your goal is to rid your body of toxins, you most likely drink plenty of water, eat appropriately, and exercise. These are all great things to be doing, but sometimes we might need a little extra help. Processed foods, alcohols, etc, all add toxins to our bodies. If we aren’t getting enough water or the right detoxifying foods, we can end up feeling sluggish and tired. A detoxing supplement can help keep excess toxins out of the body and help us feel back to normal at a quicker rate.
Healthy ways to detox naturally:
- Eat detoxifying foods: lemons, ginger, cilantro, fresh green vegetables, grapefruit…
- Drink warm lemon water.
- Take a Detox supplement.
- Exercise! Sweating helps rid the body of toxins
- Enjoy the benefits of an infrared sauna
- Avoid processed foods
We all need a little extra help sometimes. Supplements are a great way to help achieve goals and can provide multiple benefits to the body. A good supplement will get you a highly concentrated amount of nutrients to your body in a swift way.
